| I met you at the Arizona Renaissance Festival last year and fell in love with your wands. I was wearing a shirt that said, "not wearing underwear," and had offered it in a trade. Oddly enough, you agreed and I was drawn to a black wand. There were others, but this was the one I considered your best, simply because it was gifted. When you agreed to the trade,you said no other was willing to sacrifice so much for one of your creations (I immediately stripped off my shirt. Not ashamed—I wanted a wand.) To tell the truth, I think my heart stopped when you gave it to me. "Take your pick," I think you said. I went for the only wand that looked Distinct and I have it still, hanging in my room. I'm proud to have the only one to look like this one. I wish I had bought a frog and a box. (I am a nerd and take it in public, particularly to school or parties.) I still even have your card! I am sure it has magic and the fact that it came to me, when I was willing to sacrifice a great deal, makes it all the more special! (A man's shirt is precious—it hides his belly.) I am now seeking another for my partner. I pass on your web site to others who "Ooo" and "Ah" at mine and hope you are well up to your ears in orders! | |

| Dear Mr. Hall, I can't tell you how excited I was to see you at the Renaissance Faire again this year. I had seen your wands for sale last year but just couldn't make up my mind and so left empty handed. I never forgot about the wonderful artistry of your work, however, and went to your web site a few times during the year just to look. When we made our date for the Faire, I just knew that one of the things I was going to purchase was one of your wands. I was so very happy to see you there. With all the magic in the air you made the rainy day seem like a trip to Diagon Alley deep in the heart of Wizarding London. I just love the wand and know I will treasure it always. | Gary, I spent some time talking to you at Lumos last year before I chose and bought a wand. It stayed in its box for a long time due to one thing or another, including a move across the country, but last night I pulled it out for the Harry Potter Book Release Party and took it along. I had many, many people asking about it—the craftsmanship is obvious even at a glance, and the finish is as beautiful now as the day I bought it. I'm pleased that I decided to buy one of your one-offs from the table rather than a "set" piece from your usual orders, because it feels much more like "my" wand, knowing that no one else has one quite like it (though you did have two similar ones, I’m very happy to have ended up with this one). | Gary, oh master of wands: I have just received the first of many hidden core wands. I have come to expect only the most artistic and beautifully-made wands from you and this new wand lives up to my expectations. The chamber is large enough that I can insert a small feather core chosen from one of the several that have been gifted to me. I also have several hairs from animals that will fit as well. I think I'll go walking in the forest to see what else I can find (to insert in all those future wands I will buy). The top of the core is snug and well-made and the joint is so tight that it is impossible to tell that the top is removable. The finish on the wand is absolutely beautiful. I've been looking for a wand just like this for a long time, so thank you for deciding to make them. | |
